The Hi Class environmental commitment is to ensure:

  1. All operations will be conducted in accordance with the relevant legislation.
  2. Responsibilities for environmental management are clearly defined and reviewed periodically by management.
  3. Initiatives and achievements are communicated to our customers, the workforce and the community.
  4. Identify, implement and promote best practices for environmental systems as they apply to Hi Class work activities.
  5. Hi Class utilise environmentally friendly products where possible and implement systems that minimize environmental risk as appropriate.
  6. Operate in an ecologically sustainable manner by increasing efficiency of operations and where appropriate reduce waste and the use of energy and resources in all areas.
  7. Comply with relevant Australian and State Environmental Legislation and initiatives – e.g. sort and recycle waste as appropriate.
  8. Work closely with its employees, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and the community to develop and implement agreed environmental initiatives.
  9. Set objectives and targets for minimising the environmental impacts on every project.
  10. Ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities relating to environmental management and that each employee/contractor has, and maintains, the appropriate level of competency.
  11. Provide refresher training via site inductions and toolbox meetings to reinforce Hi Class’s environmental standards.
  12. Include Environmental Issues as part of all Contract Reviews.
